O Bibelô is a cafe in downtown São Paulo, in the Vila Buarque neighborhood, that offers a simple, affectionate, no-frills experience. The cafe’s owner is passionate about retro objects and furniture, and the space was designed using pieces she personally sourced. The result is a place with a “grandma’s house” feel, evoking comfort and nostalgia, but interpreted in a current, contemporary way, in direct dialogue with the neighborhood and the city.
Foresti Design was responsible for creating the name, the brand, and the visual identity of O Bibelô. The project draws from the universe of bibelôs as objects filled with memory and affection, reinterpreting kitsch in a contemporary way. Pink is the predominant color in the identity, appearing on the cafe’s walls and in most brand applications, complemented by a supporting color palette. Expressive typography and images of bibelôs help build a strong, flexible visual system full of personality.
